Statue Gajah, wood

Gajah is the name for the elephant in Indonesian, which is inescapably Indonesia. Around 2,500 individuals are estimated to live here. A statue of a palm wood  elephant, it is the original work of Balinese artists.

Exotic wood products are a suitable addition to the exterior as well as an original interior accessory. Exotic wood in the interior makes a reassuring impression, connecting man to nature. Teak wood (Tectona grandis), suar wood, mungur (Samanea Saman), albinos (Albizia falcata), popular for their strength and colour permanence, are all popular with exotic wood products.  Softer exotic trees, such as mango (Magnifera indica), acacia (Acacia), are used to make carved and coloured housing accessories. Softer wood is made into sculptures, statuettes and various interior accessories. The price of wood hinges on the age of the tree trunk. The older and more mature the wood, its value is higher.
